Question Open Lug nuts

Does anyone know the size of the 928 lug nuts. I want to pick up a set of steel open lug nuts from the local autoparts store.
Thanks.

That is a good Question Jim. However, I do know that King Wheels in Hillsboro will sell you stock Aluminum lugnuts.

Cool

The lug bolt is a 14mm with a 1.5 pitch.

I got a set of open steel lug nuts from Intersport (the shop I frequent). OG Racing (they're on the net) sells them.

Hello

The Nuts from the 1969 - 1989 VW Bus ( T2; T3 ) are the same Porsche uses ( OEM: Febi ). Have aöso similar prices but easyer zo find. Mercedes also has those nuts on small trucks ( f.e: 210 ).

Porsche do also have shorter open aluminium lug nuts for use in BBS rims.

Is open nut the only requirement or for track use do you need to have thread exposed beyond the nut?

need not extend...for track technically must have treads engaged equal to the diameter of the stud. Allows inspectors to easy see because some people add on wheel spacers/shims and start running out of stud....

PCA rule is steel, with engagement at least equal to the diameter of the wheel lug studs. Doesn't specify open or closed, though open is a obviously a lot easier to judge during tech.
