85' 4spd automatic in 83' car that had 4spd, need electrical help
Ok, I have installed a 4spd auto from a 85 car that I had into my 83 car that had a 4spd in it. It was supposed to be a direct replacement. But of course like everything in these cars it is not,(do I sound sarcastic)?
There are the 2 plugs that plug in the spare tire area of the car from the tranny to the car.
One of the 2 plugs right together. Unfortunately the second one has 2 female adapters on it, one on the car and one on the tranny are the same. Does anyone have any kind of wiring schematics for this part of the car?
I am really starting to hate these cars. should have stuck to 911's, they are easy to work on.
Thanks in advance.

The 85 uses the "neutral safety" switch on the transmission to illuminate the pnd123 on the tachometer not a feature on the 84 so different switch different wires...use the one from the old trans.

... all the time.
The thing that makes 911's "easy to work on" is that they get worked on all the time. So lots of aftermarket/replacement pieces, workarounds, etc. Having owned both, several of the air-cooled flavor, I'll pick the 928 for reliability/durability hands down.
Now, back to your regularly-scheduled rant!
