Cam Timing and TB change questions
I just did the TB on my 85. Tonight was the start-up night. It fired right up as normal. I let it run for a few min than shut it down. It ran rough, but I didnt think much about it becasue it ran rough last year in cold weather. Weather today in Eire PA is about 32 degrees and I would say block temp was about 40 degrees.
I shut the car down and and went to restart and no-go. I let it sit for about 5 min came back and it started... this happened 3 times and was consistant.
Do I need to do a cam timing with TB change? Another question I have is could the cams have moved when I used a wrench to turn them into the proper position to put the new TB on?
This TB change was nothing out of the ordanary. it went real smooth.

Double check your work if in doubt.
Crank @ TDC #1; cams in correct position; belt at correct tension....good to go.
If using the OEM tensioner/belt your back in there in a few miles anyway.

huh? Fluke from sitting I guess. Thinking about it, its been 2 months since it ran. I just went out and put the last hose on, installed collant and let her warm up a bit and she seems 100%. No restart issues, nothing... Thanks for the input guys. Whew,,, thought I was going to have to use the spare engine already
