We haven't had a descent cup holder thread in about a year... I figured it's about time.

Actually I have one out of a ’95 Mercury Mystique that might just work on the 928. It’s one of those “pop up-fold out” types. Haven’t had a time to really work on this but as soon as the head gaskets are replaced I’ll see if I can make this work on the 928.

I have a mod I just installed in my '79 but haven't taken a driving needing a cup of coffee yet so I'll report back. Basically, I took an armrest/cassette box and installed half of a swing-out cupholder from a 996 into it. I'll supply photos and a howto once I'm confident that it will work nicely.

Hmmm - looks a bit dangerous!

I used to have a single fold down version I liked a lot - but I have now been converted to the dual fold down oval looking one Dr Bob has - its the one Carl sells. Works well and looks nice in the car. Mounted to the carpet panel on the side of the console.

BTW my only single one is available I just hadn't got round to thinking about getting rid of it yet...

The Wedgie! Just found it in other colors, might need to get a gray one to match better!

I'm considering a conversion to automatic so I have a hand for a beverage.

Or, maybe sunroof delete so I have room for a beer helmet.

One of the interior guys should make a wedgy type thing out of decent materials, and cover it in leather.

I agree the wedgie actually works good and you can remove it when you don't need it. But it does look very cheapie.

Hey Russell that must be a new accessory to your GTS, I didn't notice that at Rennsport Reunion III!
Great idea though, a combination cup-holder, anti-theft monitor, seat warmer and motor starter!!
