Nice looking wheels but I would heed everyone's advice and get the correct offset....and take care of the heater.

Jeez, give us a minute to reply. I got it.

And for putting decent wheels on before you get into much needed repairs. I did it with both of my 928's and I thought it was well worth it. It just made it look so much better, it helped psyche me up to get to the repairs that much faster. Its probably not the most practical approach, but owning a 928 is not exactly practical anyway.

And Mark, have you hooked up with NJSharkFan (Mike F.) yet? He's a lister that lives down at the shore somewhere. Real friendly guy, and quite capable when it comes to tackling 928 maintenance chores. Sounds like a good guy to 928 commisserate with.

LOL, sorry Ed..

I am going to get the wheels. I recently had a load of 'sensible' work done, so feel I and the car deserves a cosmetic 'lift'.

I did meet NJ Shark on here when I first introduced myself on here 3 months ago. Mr Shark, if you catch this thread, maybe we can get together so that you can give me an opinion of how to prioritize the required work?

I was behind the red S4 with the black wheels at our 3rd coast event. His tires were rubbing pretty good on the front during our aggressive cornering. Just FYI. Maybe he will chime in.

Mark,

It's getting cold here in NJ - you need to fix the heater! NJSharkfan (Mike) is stopping by my house tomorrow morning to swap some parts. If he hasn't seen your thread by then I will mention it to him.

BTW - I'm running 993's with 55mm offsets on both the front (7") and rears (9"). With the factory 21mm rear spacers, the tires were too close to the fenders so I replaced the spacers with 7mm.

I was driving the Red 86.5 behind YOU when you lost your heater short hose on the drive to SITM after the Dragon.

Mark,

If it helps, you may stop by my place early tomorrow morning and we can take a quick look at your heat issue. Send me a PM if you're interested.

X2 on this. Have et52 wheels too and they do stick out a little. In addition, the car is very keen to follow any sort of ruts or tracks in the road surface. Haven't tried my car with any other wheels, so have nothing to compare with, but it's my understanding that this issue is significantly lessened with correct offset wheels.

Cheers,
Erling

Hey Mark,
Please, Mike is fine, you don't have to call me Mr. Shark (although that would be a cool license plate.)

Sorry I missed this thread. I didn't know it was you.

As Adam said, I'll be swinging by his place in the am. You said you sent him a PM and I haven't spoken to him so I don't know if you'll be there or not, but if so I'm sure we can take a look and see what's up with the heater real quick.

We can definitely come up with a plan for your 'to do' list if you like. I'm in the 'running gear first, then appearance' camp, but that doesn't mean anything for your car.

That was me. The front tires scraped the wheel well about 4 or 5 times during that ride, but we were at triple digit speeds and the road surface was not exactly pristine. I attribute the rubbing to the 20 year old shocks on the car. (Next on the list of course). I purchased the wheels on e-bay. Here is a link to the same style I have:

Here's a better picture of the wheel.

The only hose I didn't replace prior to the voyage. Of course. Not a good feeling when your 900 miles away from home.

I had the favor returned to me during our third coast event. I was behind John (soontobered) when his lower radiator hose spewed coolant all over the highway in front of me. LOL. I thought it started raining.

These wheels look stunning in person by the way.
