Default Instrument Light out- flasher light stays lit- flasher relay buzzing?

Hey guys- this is pretty much where I am right now-

After removing my pod to replace the odometer gear, I reconnected everything and now I have no intstrument lights, no guages work but there is a loud buzz coming from the flasher relay and the flasher instrument light stays lit. The flashers do work when I push the flasher button and during this the flasher relay stops buzzing. Turn signals also work.

I did have 2 blown fuses, 24 & 44 which I replaced. They did not blow again, but the buzzing is still there with no instrument lights and no guage activity. Any advice?

You still have some fuses which have a bad connection - check all fuses and replace corroded ones and in the meanwhile clean the CE panel with electric contact cleaner. That should do the trick. Actually while you're in there clean the relay contacts as well.

if you have corroded fuses, look above the CE panel for water drip traces. If you find any then your blower box is leaking and should be resealed, before letting the car get wet.
While your hunting for the elex problem it might be a good idea to get a fuse chart from www.928gt.com and replace every fuse with good ones and also remove and check the correct part number and position of the relays, any relay with dirty pins should be opened up and inspected, they can sometimes fill with water and corrode inside while looking fine outside . Of course DISCONNECT the BATTERY first

More vehicle info would be helpful.
From what you are saying, this is a new condition. If so, double check all connections are in their proper location, clean and tight. Sound like a possible feedback condition.

I have exactly the same problem with my 1990 GT following the same procedure. I suspect that the back of the instrument cluster is touching somewhere on the back of the aluminium inside the dash pod and is shorting. Also, bad earthing has been suggested. I will take appart the dash pod and see whether the problem reappears and then retrace my steps.
