I just want to make sure I have some facts right when it comes to the LSD unit in a 5 speed.
The LSD units were the same from 78-82.
The LSD units were the same from 83-89.
So an LSD from an 84 transmission is a direct fit into an 89 transmission.
Correct?

The part numbers are the same for the two groups of model years that you mentioned, so it should work.
