Wth no title no licensed salvage yard can legally touch one....too many potential issues about WHO actually "owns" it .... Obviously there is a market for parts or we would not have been doing this for nearly 20 years however most would be SHOCKED at how much of an old dead car simply goes to the crusher. Typically the same things most people NEED are also trashed on the donor car ! as mentioned shipping costs are greater than the value unless they are relatively close to us.

Here's what my parts car (86.5) looked like just before I picked it up at the wreckers. However this car had a near mint interior and the exterior was staight as an arrow too.

x 2.
And don't go here unless you want to be sick: http://www.carsinbarns.com/
Its American Iron, but you get the idea.
Classic Motorsports magazine has a section of their magazine that does the same thing, but its a mix of foriegn and American.
Truly sad.

YIKES! SHARKS ARE RESURFACING EVERYWHERE!
Congrats Richard! Looks like a great 'find!'
Where did you come across such a find?
Russ -
I can't believe you really passed that one up. . .
Since you own a trailer I assume you aren't referring to the transportation cost being prohibitive, but rather the restoration?
Heck, after my recent drive, 'Bama is just around the corner!
(Like I really need a trifecta of sharks -- NOT!)
I think I need to leave this thread now . . .

Yes there is. The battery was dead when I picked up my parts car so when through the inside to open the hatch. Remove the tool tray and you will see the lock mechanism. Mine had the remote motor so all I had to do was disconnect the arm from the motor and push on the lever. It can’t be that much different if yours doesn’t have the remote hatch motor. Maybe you can squeeze a thin flat screwdriver between the receiver cylinder and the latch (on the inside). Have a look at your other 928 and I’m sure you can figure out how to pop it from the inside.

1984 was the first year for the power hatch release so no such lever. You must drill a hole from inside the car as high as you can in the center of the body (not the hatch ) This will allow you to insert a screwdriver horizontaly to push the small white plastic catch on the upper black post to the rear. Note you are NOT working on the big round spring loaded white plastic cylinder in the lower reciever ! That has nothing to do with locking. Examine the post and white latch on the other car to see how it works .
