rough idling and power loss

Post rough idling and power loss

hi

my car occasionaly seems to rev high and then low when at a standstill and sometimes stalls, a few of the gagues also seem to go up and down in time with the revs there is also a slow uptake when accelerating. this is obviously causing concern and i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the situation

Does your model have an idle control valve, like the S4 models? The symptoms sound like what I have experienced when the idle control valve was going bad. There are tricks to lubricate it - if it applies to your car, do a search!

If you are having power loss, it is reasonable that the idle circuit is involved, but more likely something beyond that.

Sounds like same symptoms I experienced that two caps, rotors, and wires fixed. Wires go bad frequently in '28's.

hi

i took all the plugs off and sprayed a little WD 40 around them the coil and the distributer

fired her up and she ran smoothly

maybe cured the problem for a while. i will see how long it lasts
