I used a simple screwdriver, just be careful.
I started at the corner at the rear and gently pry the window out of the seal, and work your way around.

Remove the trim first. The trim actually locks the window in place. Gently pul the corner clips off first. Then gently pull up/work out the long pieces. Once this is out, you will find that the window now has some play in it within the rubber molding. Use a putty knife that doesn't have sharp edges or something of the sorts. Start on the inside at the bottom towards the rear and gently work the rubber over the metal lip. Now that I think about it, you will want to have two of these tool to keep the starting point from slipping back over the lip. Once you get more than half way around, you can get on the out side and grab the window while slwly working it up and down to get the rest of it out.

The way I did it was to remove the trim first, as suggested. Starting at a corner such as the rearmost lower corner of the glass, carefully fold up the rubber seal to clear the body opening. You can CAREFULLY apply outward pressure to the glass , but avoid concentrating pressure in any one area or you risk breaking the glass. All you need is a teeny opening through which you thread a strong cord from outside to inside the car (I usually slather the cord with O-ring lubricant). Standing behind the car with the hatch open. slowly and smoothly use a saw action to roll the rubber seal from inside the car to the outside. Again, if you aren't careful, you may cut into the rubber instead of rolling it, but that's the purpose of the lube. As mentioned previously, once you get about half the seal rolled out over the body opening, you can grasp the whole assembly and slide it the rest of the way out of the hole.
Installation works the same way in reverse. It's been awhile, but if I remember right, I assembled the whole thing (glass and rubber seal without trim) and pushed it into place toward the front of the car. Then used the cord to roll the rest of the seal up and over the body opening - then the trim.
