Steve,
I'd like to hear more about the shift kit. I had one in my 86.5 from Independent transmission in Miami. It cured my 3-4 flare. Now I have an '89 AT in my 86.5 and I am wondering if there is a way to get my tranny to to shift from 3rd to second more readily. Is this doable?
TIA

Steve,
thanks alot! I'll be into it towards the weekend.
Looking ahead, I have a question. If the servo is not the number you mentioned, will that mean it has been updated and I should re-install it? Or are we replacing it regardless?
Before I left for SITM Friday night, I upped the modulator pressure. When I was road testing with the gauge installed, I noticed that when shifting to reverse, solid pressure of 16+ bar was present. when shifting to drive, pressures in the 12-14 BAR range were shown. I may have been slightly low in fluid as I lost a bit installing the gauge, and of corse, there was some in the test gauge hose. I went back and removed the gauge and hose and very carefully added fluid right to the max line with the car hot, running and in park. I have put another 1500 miles on the car since Friday. The trans shifts a bit hard from 1-2 and 2-3. 3-4 still has the occasional flare up. And as you indicated in my ping post, there has been no change for the worst even with all of that driving. (I ran the Blue Ridge Parkway run locked in 3rd and there were "a few" power kickdowns to 2nd, but I stayed out of 4th (drive).
Steve, you are a lifesaver. I want to do this corectly and completely. If we get to the point where the valve body has to come off, let's do it.
Thanks,
Greg

Steve C.
Thanks for the reply. BTDT on the shift kit and not sure I'd do it again unless I know would get the easier down shifts from 3rd to 2nd. Until someone can explain why I don't have that and how it could be accomplished I will stick with my 1st gear start with moderate accelerator.
I see that RennSport offers aftermarket valvebodies for my Mercedes. I wonder if they could the same for my Porsche.

Ok Steve. I'll pull and identify it. I may put it back in So I can drove the car until the replacement arrives. Unless you advise against it.
I'll look for your pics after Memorial Day.
Thaks much again,
Greg
