Hey guys, I took my car for a drive today and smelled oil burning. When I opened up the hood, I saw on the right bank some oil. The weird thing is that oil formed a little puddle around the bolts for the intake manifold (lower bolts). Does anyone no how it got there or what the problem might be? Is the oil seeping from under the bolts or more likely a hose dripping from the top? It's a 1984 928S Euro. Thanks Sal

Most common sources are:
Bad vent hose that attaches to the oil filler housing.
Bad gasket under the oil filler housing.
Oil spilled while adding.

Thanks Wally for your reply. Is that vent hose a special hose? because I saw a little plastic piece attached to it before it circulated back into the manifold. Thanks again Sal

I (actually my mechanic) just replaced the gasket at the base of the oil fill neck. This leak was not apparent on the bank, but in the "V." If it's this gasket, the intake manifold has to come off. Which means $. But also the opportunity for POWDER COATING. Be advised, this leak in my car caused oil to get into the timing belt area. Never a good thing.
