Angry C'MON DEVEK - What's the deal???

Geez...I am at my wits end. <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> I ordered from Devek, the front adapter and belly pan for my '85 EURO and got it SEVERAL WEEKS ago. BUT - It came with NO installation instructions. I got the front adapter/pan on fine, but I cannot figure out how to attach the rear of the belly pan.

They keep sending me the instructions for the LATER model pan. <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

I have phoned Devek at least three times, emailed at least 6 or 7 times, posted in another thread here. I was told by George on no less then THREE occasions that "Susan would shortly be sending the instructions".

<img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I hope this is NOT the way Devek typically does business, and maybe this one instance just 'fell thru the cracks'.

So....c'mon Marc, Susan, George...heck - if Devek's janitor can get me the proper installation procedure, I will be appreciative!

I, am sorry to hear that you are having such problems. I will say that I have not had the problems with their service that you are having. Perhaps you should call them and not complete the call until you are satisfied with the results. This way instead of burning bridges you can get the instructions that you need without any further resistance.
I am not condoning their actions only trying to help you get the results that you need.

Mark on my 82 there are only 5 or six attachment screws/bolts on the whole pan.
I didn't pay attention at the time but I think the rear just kinda hangs there , relying on the rigidity, formed angles, curves and the front lip and corner screws.

John,

I believe Mark is refering to the full length belly pan for the '87+ with the Devek adapter to mate it to the early models. I hope he gets his answer as I would like to add this to my car/cars.

This time tomorrow I'll be posting from Washington!

Shane,

Holy Crap! You do realize how cold it is in Dutch right now??? I'm guessing that's where you're at.

Mark,

I'd say give Devek another call on Monday, rattle their cage and post your results because as I've posted in the past...that pan is on my "need" list as well and I'd like to see things work smooth.

Personally I have found their competitors to be MUCH more responsive. I have tried on a couple of occaisions to contact them. The response is always slow, if at all. I hate to say it but, the other two respond to my needs immediately. I am sure they are wonderful if you live right there but, I have not been impressed so far.

O'h...and if calling Devek again Monday doesn't work <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> ...just start a new thread here that Eric M. <img border="0" alt="[oops]" title="" src="graemlins/oops.gif" /> is supercharging another car...this time with a Binford 2000 hairdryer...I'm sure Mark will respond and you could ask him then...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH <img border="0" alt="[hiha]" title="" src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" />

Tim -

You are really on a roll today!

To others interested - this DOES seem like a well made pan. I got the front 'adapter' on - and it is already protecting things - also stiffens the front spoiler.

The problem is on the main belly pan itself. The front of it attaches to the 'adapter' but about 3/4 of the way back - there are 2 'indents' with screw holes in them - they line up to two larger holes in the front cross member that are abou 1" diam. I suppose there is some kind of fitting that maybe they forgot to send me. BUT THEN - I MIGHT KNOW THIS IF I HAD THE DANG INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!!!

This thing wasn't cheap - so I wold like to use it for more than a drink stand in my garage!

Come on over....I've got a 6-pack sitting on this gorgeous, shiney, finned, "drink stand" in my garage!

Hey

Me Too...Me Too... <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

BEER MEEEEE
<img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" />

It's my Friday...looking at two days off and the Shark has already got two coats of wax today so he's shining and I'm stoked.

O.K...back on topic. I hear the Devek pan is pretty rigid.

Aside from your problem, the only other complaint so far has been about its finish...somewhat rough & dirty needing a polish. What's you experience here.

BrianG,

You’re cracking me up! Sharkey got his skin massaged today...twice even. Then I ran him through the canyon hard for exercise.

Mark,

“SAY WHAT”… <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> No AT & T from the Golden Gate crowd yet…Hmmm… this is very perplexing to say the least <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Larry,

Sorry to hear about the nose thing <img border="0" alt="[oops]" title="" src="graemlins/oops.gif" /> but I'm here for ya babe! Planets were in line last night and mojo was a flowing <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> …Ya…that’s it…And Hell...who knows...today is a whole new day…plenty of time to get into trouble

“MAX”…”GET ME MY CAPE”…We’re going out! I feel like dancing <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Factitious name placed here XXX <img border="0" alt="[icon501]" title="" src="graemlins/icon501.gif" /> …to protect the guilty so I can still attend “Devek” days and get a hamburger and talk turbo talk.
