C&R Aluminim radiator repair?
Hey guys,
Does anyone have any experience with repairs to aluminum radiators? I have a line on a used C&R (originally purchased from 928 Inter'l) that has a leak somewhere on the drivers side.
Unfortunately, I can't give a detailed description of the leaking area as I haven't seen the rad yet, and don't have a detailed description, but the owner thought it might be possible to bend a few fins and get a repair done.
I know our dirtbike radiators regularly get hammered, I mean really trashed, and they are miraculously repaired by a few different specialists, so I'm assuming a simple leak would be no problem for someone with some experience with working with aluminum rads.
I'm going to call around to the local rad shops, but thought I would ask here as well.
Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.
Ed

That's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks Jim.
And I had considered just calling you guys to get your input, but actually picking up the phone, dialing, and then having to actually talk to someone, it all just seems to much for me (no offense, you guys are great when I actually do call).
Vs sitting on my couch in quiet obscurity clicking away on my keyboard and reaching out to the virtual world...

Thanks Hans. I just called my local rad shop and they do aluminum rad repairs all the time there. I'll probably bring it by there for them to take a look at it. I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes. -Ed
