I can appreciate the warning about the ppi, but the fact is the current owner has had it since 1998 and he has all the bills to go along with it. I have already scraped out his brain to get all of the info on the car that exists. I am counting on replacing much of the rubber and gaskets and all of the belts considering how little it's been driven in the last 10 years. So my question (again) is do I buy this expecting to put in a few K into it, or do I wait (probably a long time) to find another S4 5-speed with maintenance records selling for $14k?

There's only one answer ... buy the damn car. As everyone said to me no matter what car you buy , add two grand hope for the best and enjoy!
It's the best money I've ever spent.

Ryan,

Are you going crazy? You just got your 89 and you want another, are you off the meds? just kidding. Before you close your wallet, buy mine so you have a spare maroon interior. Look it over good first, at least if you had a problem with one you could parts swap quick with the other.

hahaha... Oh Brian.. yes I know it must seem overly extravagant to have such carelessly free options as I seem to have... But don't jump to conclusions.... And don't belittle your car! I'm going to have to put about $1500 into my 89 to make it drive as quiet and as smooth as yours and that is doing all the work myself. But listen... Just between you and me... Yeah, I stopped taking my Lithium and Thorizine right after I escaped from the ward 2 weeks ago. But don't worry!! I feel so great!!!! Hahahaha

One of our Detroit boys (now a Texas man) had one in this color. It really is nice. He said women always complemented him on the car, so maybe that's worth it right there.

All that matters is if you like it, then buy it.

no no no... Please Brian, I would never buy a 928 because a girl told me she liked the color. The color is really not even close to being a deciding factor, nor an important issue compared with all the other things on the check list that precedes the purchase of any 928 . Come on now, you now this.

Door gap looks a little off.
Be sure it's not a re-built Title.
