Default Fuel gauge oil

In doing the intake R&R I got the passenger side fuel rail off but in the process manage to disturb the fill port of the pressure gauge and lost 1/3 of the fluid.

Is there an oil that's available to refill?

The oil is only there to dampen the needle occilations. I think it's just mineral oil. You could dump it all out and replace with mineral oil which will be compatable with any seal in it.

Sean..........its the fuel gauge one can attach to the end of the passenger fuel rail.

I bought mine from 928 Motorsports which is a fine unit until I turned it upside down without the little cap.

I did that too! But I'm not buying Carl's this time. It's a good unit but way overpriced, they can be had for 25.00 or so. Or call 928 specialists, yeah, that's what I'll do.

Glycerin should be available at any drug store and possibly grocery store.

It is glycerine - thick and clear, just to damp the needle. I doubt that its really necessary in a fuel pressure gauge. My gauge set for the K-jet (from JCWhitney) is not oil damped, and its stable and easy to read. Damping is more common with air pressure which can fluctuate more rapidly then liquid pressures - in which case, fit a restrictor, or a copper tube section you can crimp down to reduce fluctuations. Same practice with vacuum gauges to damp them.
