Getting ready to get the OB out of semi-hiberbnation. Driven it a few times over the course of the NY winter but it's been sitting for 6 weeks with all the storms we had lately.
Took it outside yesterday to get it warmed up and noticed power steering fluid on garage floor. Not much mind you. PS Resorvoir still measures on the dip stick. Rack replaced 12K miles ago.
Search on list yielded suggestion to drain fluid - cut top end of hose and reclamp.
Does this sound like the best place to start? Also - where on the PS dipstick should the level be?
Pete,
Go under the car and find out from where the oil comes - First lift/open the rubber boots at the steering rack, if you have oil here the rack is leaking - Next possibility are the hoses from/to the reservoir, pumps and rack

It's easy to check the hoses by just feeling underneath the reservoir. If one of the hoses is moist, you found at least one of your leaks....do you get any noise from your pump?
Most common leak is from loosened hose clamp at resevoir. If you can't tell because everything is grimy and greasy, clean the hoses, drive the car around the block, then check. Usually as simple as tightening those clamps down. (I keep meaning to put a dab of light loctite on those, but instead I just retighten them every year or so).
Topped off PS tank with Dexron, wiped down hoses, tightened clamps last night. Driving it today in this sunny 60 degree NY weather. Will recheck tonight.
