So based on the lack of response, I'm guessing section 74 doesn't exist and the TOC I have listing it is wrong. Anyone?

Hey JE,

I have a brand new 9 volume set and although section 74 is indeed listed in the TOC it is nowhere to be found.

I should be in volume 5 (body)

Hmmmmm....maybe it was deleted? Mine is an older copy that came with several years of updates. I would still think 74 would be there if it ever was. Why would they list something that doesn't exist or hasn't existed?

Since I don't have access to shop manuals for other Porsche models, it's just a guess, but my guess is that section 74 is consistently used for seat covers across all Porsche models. The lack of acceptance of the 928 by the Porsche community probably short-circuited the long-term intentions of many departments, including the tech writing group.

So what you are saying is, that section 74 may exist in another factory workshop manual for another model (944, 911. etc). And since we know the seats were about the same, that section in another manual will work.

I guess I'll have to post on another list.

John,
I just took a look in the 944 CD and don't see the section in there either. Maybe for 911's?
