Default key in ignition

Has anyone experienced this, once my key has been turned to acc. I noticed that the key can be pulled out about 1/3 the out of the ignition. 89 928s4

I used to be able to start the car and take my key out completely - with the car still running. Needed a new ignition switch.

Hey Joe I have looked around for some rekey advice for the ignition but could not find any. I did find some good stuff from 928.org.uk on rekeying the rest of the locks, but could not find anything else. Do you know of a good place to look
