There are a couple of things that make me think this IS an 86.5. The first is that vacuum switch that is attached to the fender brace. I have seen this on the 86.5 but not on an 85 and I don't think an 86 either. The other is the elctrical test port to the immediate left of the oil filler neck. On the 85, that connector lives to the rear of the other stuff on a slanted bracket. On the 86.5, it stands upright at the front of the assembly. I am not completely sure if they made any of these changes between 85-86 but I would be willing to bet a moderate amount of change that it IS an 86.5.
