Post '86 Deal???

Was just browsing 20th street's site and found this: <a href="http://www.20car.com./cars/car66/index.htm" target="_blank">1986 928</a>

Don't know if it's a "half" or not.

BTW, is there anything externally that could id an '86.5?

Yeah, I know about the VIN, brakes, suspension - I was just wondering if there were something obvious from looking at pictures like those.

There are a couple of things that make me think this IS an 86.5. The first is that vacuum switch that is attached to the fender brace. I have seen this on the 86.5 but not on an 85 and I don't think an 86 either. The other is the elctrical test port to the immediate left of the oil filler neck. On the 85, that connector lives to the rear of the other stuff on a slanted bracket. On the 86.5, it stands upright at the front of the assembly. I am not completely sure if they made any of these changes between 85-86 but I would be willing to bet a moderate amount of change that it IS an 86.5.

Cheers

Somebody loved it once - it has the Momo steering wheel and aftermarket ignition wires. Wonder why it's a salvage?

Only things obvious to me from the pics are stereo and speakers ripped out and shift **** missing. Paint and wheels both look good - in the pictures.

Might be a heck of deal after a PPI for someone who isn't worried about resale value.
