Default Dash, Indicators and Rear lights problem

Plugged my instrument pod back in, turned the key and nothing - no dash illumination at all. Checked the fuse - it is ok. Then the indicator relay started buzzing, rather than clicking and lastly, there are no rear lights, eventhough the fronts work as expected. Any ideas?

The car is a 1990 GT

Thanks in advance.

Battery is kaput? check voltage?

what else did you work on? did you pull the central Electric panel too?

Thanks for the suggestion John. I think I will start from scratch again next week - take everything apart and put it back together, hoping for the best. Otherwise I can see a trip to the Good Dr A...
