Default Spare injector covers?

I was cleaning the tools in back of the 1987 928 S4 and saw a couple plastic pieces. Curious as to what they were covering, I dislodged them from their hiding spot between the tool cover and the rear of the car to determine there was a set of injector covers sitting back there. Is that just the previous owner's nifty hiding spot for these things? Does anyone else have them? Could this get in the way of the rear hatch? (In case you're following my other thread, NO this is not related to the issue I'm having as hatch releases with force with and without these present). Thank you.

try checking under the hood if your engine is with out the covers then put them on, otherwise toss them in your spare parts bin , i wouldnt leave them in the tail compartment

There is already a set on the engine. Confirming was my first step after discovery. Thank you.
