Default another 928 gone forever!

So in my senior year of high school my friend told me of his cousins 928 that had been passed down from generation to generation. The owners had not been taking care of it and it was under a car cover in california. I talked to my dad about it and we decided to buy it for 2000 bucks. Me and him drove to california from washington picked it up and nursed it home. because it didnt drive very well. We got it home popped the hood and replaced everything!!!! after all of this we were very proud of our find. It ran like a champ and looked gorgeous. However we collected two more 944s and had another 928 and so the automatic one had to go. We sold it for 7 grand to a young kid. Needless to say we were happy with our sale. TWO days later a pic of a twisted 928 appeared in our newspaper. the joyrider teen had crashed it on the highway at 140 mph and walked out unscathed. The car had perfect paint and body panels! It makes me sad to report the car is gone forever from our ranks. It went out with style but what a waste.

It's stories like this one that really keep me from wanting to pass one of ours to my step daughter when she comes of driving age. There is another example at Rog100's house. 16 year old girl, '87 cassoriot and the consequences of that combination.

altho think about it - the kid walked away from a crash at that speed. Shows you how well designed these cars are. The kid would have been killed in just about anything else...Too bad for the loss of what sounded like a great car, but if the kid was going to do something stupid, good thing it was your old 928!

I dont know about that Ed,
as brutal as it may sound if he had been in something else, we wouldnt have to worry about him being on the road anymore

I saw that car a couple of weeks ago when I went to his house to pick up some parts. The color on that car was GORGEOUS....hated to see it die part by part, but at least the young lady survived the incident, and hopefully grew a little wiser in the process...
