Post HELP! ATF all over the ground, front and rear!

As if I thought things were getting better with the shark, this morning I woke up only to find every single cubic centimeter of ATF inside that car on the floor! There are 2 very very large puddles in the front of the car and the rear right under the torque converter! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Now most of you know I just had the torque tube fixed and the car has only been backed out of the driveway until the steering rack incident happened in a previous post.

My question is, was there some sort of rupture in a pressure line to cause all the ATF to come out of the car. My father started it up yesterday and he said there were no leaks under the car at all until we woke up this morning. And, this is a very very big leak. The reservoir has ATF dripping from it and we can't see where it's leaking from in the front.....help...

UPDATE: I looked in the front of the car where the radiator is at and looked down under where i could see the ground and there was a lot of ATF still there, but I couldn't see where the hell the damn leak was coming from. Where do the hoses containing the ATF connect to the radiator?

The lines are on the passenger side. Get the car up on jacks or a lift, clean it all down and look for the leak. You should fine out what is leaking before you settle your claim.

Steve I don't think its the fault of the construction company on this one, i think it might have been my mechanic because we had never driven the car since the torque tube, again with the exception of backing out of the driveway. I know a hose probably went in the front. But, why is the rear leaking ATF like crazy too? Could the pump seals that were just replaced on it might have blown???? or another hose??? right now I'm doing accounting homework and I'll take a look at the car on tuesday since i'll be busy most of the week.

I'd hop on that and call up the mechanic ASAP so there is no 'well if its really my fault, why didn't you call me sooner?' type of garbage going on. On the front passenger side there is a large hose for atf cooling at the bottom of the radiator (at least on my S4) and you should be able to see your atf there. Are you sure that its not coming from the rack? They do use atf in them. The rear... Hmm... Front pump o-ring? Those like to leak on just about every 928, and even a Mercedes mechanic looked at mine and said, "Hey a front pump leaking...hm." See if you can look at where the puddle originated on the floor and then use that to figure out where on the car it came from, ie the torque converter, front pump, hose, etc. But, do NOT drive that car! Keep us posted and we all wish the best!

Ok, the car goes in tomorrow via a tow truck. I remember they had to do some cutting on a line that was tweaked in order to fix it. They made their own lip for it to connect the hose to with a proper seal. I don't remember the exact line but I think that might be a culprit in this too.

Barry, which O-ring are you talking about? Powersteering pump? or the AT pump that they just resealed? If its the same one they fixed it looks like i get a free teardown and fix for that one little seal in the rear since that's my friend's policy at his shop.

Yeah, I'm talking about the front pump on the transmission. One would assume that if they just resealed it, that it would be ok, right? Oh, and that part about cutting a line and fabbing it to seal right... That kinda scares me man! I'd just get a new one and not worry about it. When it comes to 'making' something seal, its either perfect and it works perfect, or... you know. But sounds like you're going to get it fixed either way tomorrow! Let us know buddy.
