Ignition system question
I'm planning to change my spark plug wires on my 1991 S4. They have few cracks here and there on the outer shield.
I did not test them, but I'm quite sure there are few sparks flying under the hood! Also I have vibrations (low frequency) at about 3000 rpm (another tread) and Dr bob suggest that miss fire could be the problem. Very interesting point.
Anyway here I go.
1) I have seen that there is a big price range for the spark plug wires. From the full Beru set at over 400$ to the wire leads only at about 100$ (Roger's). Would I change the entire set or only the leads? My connectors "look" good.
2) Would it be also a good thing to change everything? Rotors, caps and coils. Are those parts due for a change? My car has 50 K. miles.
Thank you.

Hi Bertrand,
I have the full set of factory Beru wires & connectors and caps for $350.
I also have the Beru wires for $99 as you know.
I also sell the connectors should one of yours not be good.
Roger

Thank you to let me know. It's a very good price at $350. If I go with wires only, can I use the old seperators or need new ones? I guest you have those.
Also would it be a good thing to change everything? Do you have the rotors, caps and coils?
Thank you.

You just need to check the connector resistances are in spec - IIRC, 3k ohms. If they are same as early connectors the wires screw into them.
