I am closing this thread in response to Randy's PM. Randy was displeased that I (via the 928 OC announcement) was promoting a product that is not a Rennlist sponsor, when (according to Randy) there are Rennlist sponsor(s) who sell similar products.

The use of Theo's product was suggested by a 928 OC board member and we decided to purchase it to provide to 928 OC sponsored events. There was no discussion of any other product, other than the Hammer by Porsche. Perhaps none of the board members know of the other products, I really don't know.

If anyone was offended by this, I apologize. Clearly to anyone who knows the members on the 928 OC board, there was only an intent to do good here.

I am closing the thread. If you want to discuss this further you will need to do so on one of the other boards I posted it on. There is a similar post on the 928OC.org forum

I will avoid making such an announcement at Rennlist again. The 928 OC intends to purchase more tools and can not be beholden to only announcing tools that are Rennlist sponsors or interviewing all Rennlist sponsors to determine if they provide a comparable tool.

Hopefully this makes Randy happy.

Not so fast, Stan.

Theo has refused repeatedly to consider sponsorship, yet continues to use Rennlist to market his products. Now you show up to promote on his behalf?

We do show preference to those that support Rennlist.

Randy,

As I explained in the PM. My intent here was to announce the 928 OC would have a tool available for event coordinators to use at events.

I had no intent on promoting Theo's product and contrary to your PM I knew nothing of a competitor's product, whether a Rennlist sponsor or not.

I also stated that I don't care if you believe me. There are plenty of people in the 928 world that know my character, which has nothing to do with the deception you imply.

My experience has been that people who anticipate deception from other people, do so, because that is how they act.

I consider your attempt at maligning my character as a serious offense.

My experience has been that people who claim others are 'maligning their character' often have a character that has already been maligned.

Just sayin'...

Please show me where I 'maligned' anything of yours in this thread.

Seems clear to me. You stated that I "promote on his behalf".

I won't close the thread anymore, since you just open it back up.

Quite a power trip you are on Randy.
