Post no return call

I want to share something that is bothering me.

I sent my brain to !#@$ for testing. They received the brain in 5 days by UPS. The next day they called me and told me my brain was bad. I said, ok, send it back to me with a new LH relay and fuel pump relay.

All said, that was about 10 days ago. I tried calling them, each time they have told me the person that helped me is not in. All I want to know is the status, has it been shipped or what?It pisses me off that they are not even answering my calls, or the message I left 2 days ago.

Hummmm, name of the company?..... you all are asking, right? Its coming, I know they visit this site too. I don't want to give them a bad name for something this small, but they should be more professional. Is it that hard for a company to return someone's call?

Thanks,
Giovanni.

If you don't want to give them a bad name, why post this here at all? I've seen a couple threads like this popping up and I just don't like the trend. This is private business between you and the company in question. Posting it in public is neither fair nor productive unless you've been screwed out of hundreds of dollar or someth else really bad.

Sorry, Giovanni, your post seems like the least offensive of this class, I just saw one too many and had to say something.

Question for Jessa. If public forums like this one is not a good place to exchange experiences and info., then where is? How do consumers unite and protect themselves from business and government which unite against the consumer? I openly welcome all experiences and names of companies should be used. If you are a company and you cannot provide professional, timely service, you deserve to be outed. Why should this be hidden from future, potential clients? This country is so patheticly angled to take advantage of the consumer is makes me sick. We sure do not need to make it worse by aiding in their protection.

So then!
We are back to a seperate forum, or what?
The need for business to be organized at the home office is a basic ESSENTIAL office practice.
While the entity mentioned is not going to enjoy these little dings and sHARk nibbles if it gets enough of them someone over there is going to say "hey guy's, here is the action taken/suspense file -hard copy- , the shipping suspense file, and the Inventory Bin consumption/re-order file. By the way it's all cross referenced for easy access".
Yeah, we know they are more than just a mail order house. We know that they have a 928 parts developement program -good for all of us- amongst other things.
But, they need the profit from parts sales to help fuel that developement. Won't do any good to to have nifty new parts if they end up as a minor supplier to 'THE REMAINING BIG TWO' in our strictly, niche market.
I understand Jessa and others gripe about "that WHINING NOISE" and would recommend a SUPPLIER GRIPE CORNER seperate from a needed Beware of the RIP-OFF Forum.
I sincerely believe that if rennlisters, particularly new folks, see a stack of posts concerning minor gripes, more about one supplier than another, they will vote with their business. At the same time, the supplier should be able to head off a bad developement/cure a weak business practice thus averting a cash flow problem and heading off subsequent PRINTED GRIPES. You could have a quarterly GRIPE WIPE if there are no complaints in that period.
Giovanni,
Figuring a ten day turn around using your UPS numbers it does appear that there is going to be at least 5 UNNECESSARY days that your sHARk won't be cruising. What with the weather change due shortly, the gripe is valid.
Hang in there buddy, I'm sure you soured someone's breakfast already!
John D. and Randy V.,
Also understandable that we don't have a gripe column as 'they' are Rennlist supporters.
Bottom line: I guess Mike pointed out that this is after all, a forum.
And Snow shortened, in his, as alway's, smooth as Montana Butter response, the REAL CURE is to
"give the guy his g--damn brain back... ."
Gio is probably thinking "hell, my Mastercard has already debited, so where' my stuff"
Jessa,
How much ya' askin', particulars on the Golden One? E-me, my Address is in my profile. Thanx.

Perhaps when these unfortunate experiences occur, the 'victim' should mention in their followup voicemail / email to the 'company' that they seem to have no alternative but to query a public forum to determine if these business practices are normal.

If that doesn't rouse 'em, well they certainly were given ample opportunity to take corrective action.

Let's not drag this one through the mud here, 'kay?

Randy,

A threat to air ones gripes on a public forum will mean nothing if the griper is always chastised as in this case. Giovanni aired his complaint without naming the vendor in hopes of getting their attention (which phone calls haven't done). This was very gracious considering his plight. We do need to realize there is often two sides to every story and give legitimate vendors a chance to respond. How about a set of rules or guidelines being published? Any ideas?

Waw, I though this site was sharing experiences RELATED to 928's.

I am sorry Jessa, but read my post again and then read yours. Like I said, I know the supplier that I am dealing with frequents this site. I don't want to gave them a bad name, all I want is for them to return my call. It that too much to ask.
I called them and left 2 messages. Also I left 1 voice mail too. So far they have not returned my calls. Maybe my brain was not fried after all. Or maybe the 2 parts I order was not in stock and they back order them. Or maybe my parts are lost in the mail.

Guys, if you have a forum called "928" and I have a 928, hummmm, do the math. Maybe someone needs to sub devide this forum then: 928 engine, 928 interior, 928 electrics, 928 vendors, 928 unrelated, etc?

The reason of this forums (in my opinion at least) is to praise the 928 and everything related to it, can be good or bad, short cuts on fixing problems, good/bad experiences with vendors/suppliers, etc. I am wrong?

What's your thoughts on the existence of this forum?

Well....btdt

Learn from the lesson and vow to never repeat it.

You know the saying....

BTW - I'd have checked your brain if it was for an 87/88. have done so for a few folks here - glad to help.

OTOH - Sometimes business is soooooo good that we can get toooo busy. But a vendor should never be toooo busy to return a call - or fire off an email. Neglect can sometimes be interpreted as either lazy or to busy. Your guess is as good as ours.

Either way, thanks for the info. Sometimes history does repeat itself.

Question

Is the d word refusing to return or acknowledge customer queries again, like they did to me?

Just curious...

Gio, did you get your brain back? I feel for you buddy. I went through the same thing with a large object in my drive that I paid lots of money for and waited and waited for others to reply with information or products. It will work out for you.

Yes Chuck, I got my brain today.

It was just a misunderstanding. Next week I will get a test brain, hopefully that will fix the problem.

To be sure and safe, I also got a new fuel pump relay and a new L-jetronic relay. If there is something wrong with the wiring, I don't want to run the chance to burn the test brain by bypassing the brain relay.

Btw, you still have the spare temp 2 sensor?

Later,
Gio

Gio, yes I still have a temp 2 sensor. Check to see if it's the brain and then shoot me a note and we can work out something. I've got to hand it to you for sticking with this project. Like I said I know the feeling. I just got my car back after almost four months at the mechanic. It is so much fun to drive and hear the sound of the engine as I race through the gears.

My 2 cents here...

I feel as long as someone can post a "gripe" that isn't demeaning or non-professional, it should be posted. Simple as that...
