Post NOS

Has anyone ever used NOS on a 16v Euro Motor?. If so, a little insight please. Also, does anyone know if the 944 kit is good for the 928 (plus 4)

TIA

I thought Keith Widom was going to make his cylinders giggle with glee?

I found out that Holley NOS makes a powerfogger wet nitros system. I haven't talked to a Tech nor do I have a price quote, so time will tell. Apparently, the fogger system is adjustable from 75 to 125 hp (boost) - <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I have got the set up, but not installed yet. (same old story) I should have it hooked up and running in about a month.

Though my engine is not a Euro, I will be installing Euro intakes and Euro throttle body for the juicing.

I will certainly post when complete.

Juicing with a 50 shot should be no problem for the engine. Anything above that and you will be at your own risk.

This what came back from Holley NOS Tech Support -

Does your vehicle come equipped with electronic or mechanical fuel
injection ? Also if it is electronically injected, does the vehicle have
a vacuum sensitive fuel pressure regulator in the engine compartment?

IF EFI and VSFPR Equipped -

The kit that should fit your car is part number 05115 ($642.list) and will
add 75-100HP safely to naturally aspirated, multi port electronically fuel
injected engines. This is normally enough power to drop the 1/4-mile times
by 1-1.5+sec. This kit is also easy to install (about the same as a car
stereo install w/amp/CD changer 3-5 hours). No other mods. are required to
run this kit. This kit is a "pressure boost" style of dry manifold nitrous
kit.

Thanks, NOS Tech Dept.

If i get NOS i wanted a direct port system, adjustable 75-150hp. i read with direct port systems you get a better mixture.

Are saying that for a Euro Motor at 10.4:1 compression?.

Cool

I know several people here in Orlando with NOS on their camaros and Mustangs; They always advise to get a progressive nitrous controller, which adds the gas progressively over a second or two when you get on it. Regular NOS systems add the gas/fuel instantly, which puts quite a shock on the drivetrain...

Please look into getting ceramic pistons before you instakll the NOS, or you could burn a hole in the engine.

I was rather concerned myself over the installation of NOS on my 928 (or any 928 for that matter). Remember, this isn't a "Chevy push rod". Not that may or may not make a difference, but I have had a few folks recommend I stay clear of NOS on a 928 engine. BUT, I didn't like the answer, so I spoke to a few other 928 folks who are a bit more knowledgable about the 928 engine.

The word is, 50 shot is just about where you can go without worrying about detonation or stressing the engine to the edge. Should be able to get a nice boost without any worries of grenading. Kibort ran the hell out of his Euro/US track car on NOS with a 50 shot for a season (or two)without any problems. I believe he probably put his engine to more stress with the NOS then I ever will on the street. Notible 928 personalities in our community have told me that I will have nothing to worry about, just so long as my engine is in good shape to begin with....it IS.

With the question of 75 or 100 shot, the simple answer to me was..."I wouldn't". That's enough for me to not even think about it.

If you feel like experimenting, then go for it and let us know the results. I certainly will be posting back after my mods are done...with dyno charts.

It's not a 16v Euro engine, but the following might be of interest:
