Formal Introduction of a New 928 Proud Owner

Jeeesus, look what the posting of a picture can do. The average IQ on this board just dropped 40 points. What a hoot.
And that is not a reference to Lisa's, it's a literal illustration of the dumb stick.
Does anybody remember Normy's hood shot? Not quite the same reaction.
Well, this is the place to be if you need help.

Ladies & Gentlemen....
Thank you for your heart felt welcome! I am impressed with the kind offers of protection, italian comments, comparison to Beer (or bean) cans, and the slick re-posting of a picture!
I am very excited to attend an Event! And would be more than happy to help plan one.
Soooo heres the scoop: When I was 16 my dad took me to a LA Kings game at the Forum, after it ended he pulled over & taught me to drive on his 911! That is when the love affair began! Ive learned alot in my 30 years, but most important is that Life is Too Short!
So I want to Laugh & Smile too much, Dance & Sing like no one is watching, & live like today is my last day! So after months of research on the car I chose one with good records, from a good guy!
And I am truely in Love! IM READY TO GET MY HANDS DIRTY (with a lil help from you all), drive fast, baby it....but most of all just simply enjoy it!
Thanks again everyone (**blushing**)
PS My Friend Rexter, suggested I contact Nicole & do a Tech Sitting? Nicole, can you send my info?

I think they were referring to a 'tech session'. Bacially it's a beer/gab/beer/car/beer/repair/photo fest held by various members of the 928 group. You'll learn some obscure things about your car, and usually someone has an issue that needs investigating. Very laid back, but sometimes technically intense.

Nicole lives in the SF bay area, where there's a hard-core DIY group almost constantly doing something to something or someone. It's a short ride by 928. I don't see as many SD area tech sessions posted, although we did spend a lot of the wine-n-jazz gathering time hanging out with the cars rather than sitting listening to the featured entertainment. We could hear them fine, we just had our backs to them as we toured the rides and shared knowledge and experiences. My guess is that the winery wasn't quite ready for any extensive fixes in their driveway anyway. Back to tech sessions-- A few times a year we do a session here with some featured "fix" that one or two cars in the group need. We've done brake fluid flushes, ride height adjustment, a mini-session looking at wheel alignment, one for motor mounts, another for timing belts. Did an AC control head, brake anti-squeel pads, both on guest cars in the last month or so. Did my own door stops on Sunday just to prove to myself that I could, and fixed a couple other things on the way in and out. Subject matter depends on what's needed. Sessions are driven by demand, pretty much. Got something that you could use help on? Post a note with your work plans, what you need as far as tools/support/etc., what beer you are pouring and when, and generally you can get a group together to help. Mostly we gather to visit and have fun, and sometimes the fun is focused on car tasks.

Welcome to the asylum Lisa Marie. There are several 928ers in the Temecula area and also, Oscar lives in Lake Elsinor very close to you. Oscar is very knowledgeable about the 928 We occasionally have 928 clinics, and I hope you will join us.

Wow, as much as I occasionally gripe about distance from other 'listers or competent shops, I think I'm suddenly glad the relative density of 928s is lower out here! Would be nice to have a similarly sporty, vibrant and enthusiastic new entry into our little SE Mass coterie though.

First of all, welcome-nice looking car.
Secondly, I'm looking at your signature-Temecula, huh?
I'm actually looking at houses in Temecula on Friday, so there may be another nice 928 in the neighborhood sometime next Spring! And, a nice 911 too....

Sometimes it works and sometimes you just come off as a dork.
