Thumbs up Eastern Mass Alignment Shop

As a few of you know I recently had a new steering rack, motor mounts, tie rods and a host of other items replaced in my car. After the rack and tie rods the alignment was way off which is no surprise.

So I talked to a few people at work about various shops in the area (there are a couple of older P-Car owners at work ) and one suggested Randolph Racing. I did a quick search and found good reviews so I gave Kevin a call. He said that he couldn't do an alignment on the 928 but he recommended a guy in W. Bridgewater, Kurt's Automotive. His specialty is alignments and Kevin mentioned that he's done a bunch of 928's and knows his way around them.

I was quoted $150.00 for a four wheel alignment which sounded about right.

So I brought the car in today and he went out to the car to drive it onto the rack. He came back in a few seconds later, went to the back and grabbed a cover for the seat and carpeting. He then asked if I had it since new and I said "I wish!" It took him just over an hour to finish and he let me and my son watch as he turned the wrenches. Before I had arrived he had already pulled the software, wrenches and everything needed for the 928 and knew exactly where to go underneath the car. He mentioned that he mostly gets 911's and 944's but prefers working on the 928's and 944's because they have more adjustability in front. He also does all the work for a local Ferrari restoration shop nearby.

My camber in front was apparently waaay off -2.5 on one side and -1.8 on the other. Left rear was within spec and right rear was off but adjusted nicely. I watched as everything on the screen went to green.

The ride home was great, steering was recentered and the car tracked perfectly straight. It also feels completely planted at speed and when cornering. These cars are absolutely amazing and the more I drive/own it the more I love it. Seriously has to be one of the worlds best kept sports car secrets. (yeah I said sports car!)

I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an alignment. Just be sure to ask him to print off the alignment sheets, I forgot to ask for this and left without it. Kurt's Automotive Specialist 508-584-9212

I just had my 84' done two weeks ago. Feels better but it still wants to drift to the right a little. My other vehicles do not do this on the same road. The alignment comes with a six month warrenty so I will take it back and have them recheck the measurements.
