Injector Replacement Write up
Apologize in advance if this subject has been covered, however could not find the info needed.
Basically need to replace my injectors and donot have a clue as to where to begin. My local garage took them out to get them cleaned and put them back in again and I was chraged a fortune in costs. Thus I am determined to do this myself.
I read the following and didnot understand this at all:
http://www.nichols.nu/tip447.htm
Please can some one give me some guidance in terms of a step by step instructions in replacing these injectors with any photos.
Thanks a million.
Cheers

Havent done L- or LH injectors myself, but these are fitted with O rings at each end- one at the manifold end (or maybe 2 there?) and one sealing the back end into the fuel rail. The rail is held in place by bolts into manifold. One the incoming and reyturn lines are removed from the rail ( and the cross pipe connecting the two rails), the should just pull off in a straight line through the injectors. As the poster on nicols said, some wriggling back and forth may ne necessary the break the grip of the O rings. Reassemble with Vaseline to assist getting them home. DO a search on this topic, should find something.

If your 'local garage' took them out and cleaned them (how?) why do you need to replace them? Are they leaking? Did the shop not clean them? Or not replace the pintle caps and o-rings?
As well as the specific posts on the Nichols site there is lots of useful advice on replacing injectors in the write-ups on intake manifold (including David Chamberland and Jon Rourke's terrific write-ups).
Richard Armstrong's Ritech site has great photos of intake refurb including injectors.
Also check the email 'keepers' section on the Pirtle site.
I haven't replaced mine yet as have to start the intake refurb but having read all the above info I'm confident there's enough advice and tips there to do a good job.
Don't forget to do searches here with say "injectors" in title and the threads will lead you to lots of sources.
