Do you know of any pearls that Porsche ever offered, other than custom paint-to match?
I may be wrong, but can't recall any.
On the other hand, I've seen Porsches in pearl white, but always assumed those were paint-to-match type colors.

Didn't mean to spawn a debate. But I noticed that colors have been a subject of discussion more than once, especially the unusual ones. There have been a couple of threads discussing the color of my car and I don't think anyone ever got a decent picture of one - there aren't many of them. So now there are a few shots of another unusual color posted to add to the list.
Besides, I couldn't find the orange/purple I really wanted....

Nicole-The factory WSM refers to the following pearls:
Amazon Green Pearl Effect 37Z and 39A
Amethyst Pearl Effect 38A and 83K*
Black Pearl 738
Midnight Blue Pearl Effect 39C*
*water based
Now, whether or not they were extra cost, I must now say I'm not sure. I thought they were, as I recalled the Pearl White 95GTS that Chuck Z helped sell listed it as a rather expensive option on the window sticker. However, in checking the WSM, Pearl White does not appear on the list of available 928 colors. As such, it would appear that particular color was either a special color from elsewhere in the Porsche lineup or a custom paint-to-match, either of which cost more $$$.
Mark- my apologies for going off on the special color tangent.
