Default Part Numbers

Can somebody tell me what these camshafts are for:

Nr.9281052035 R
9281052916R
9281052926R
9281052720R

The 928intl catalogue confused the hell out of me. Am I looking at a set for 86.5 32v car or has the seller got his description completely wrong?

TIA,

Alex

Here's a good place to start. Go to the 928 parts list by variation.

Those as casting numbers. You need xxx xx number from rear end of the cams. That is last five digits of actual cam part number.

Other easier way to id S3 cams is to check if they have bearing surface after last cam lobe. If yes they are S3, if not they are not.

you have 4 cams there, and only one with a nose to attach a gear onto.

So they are rubbish at this point.

but that said they appear to be S4 cams.

Yep, three intakes and only one exhaust cam. All S4 or later.

What, where, when? I've got one lonely S4 exhaust cam. If they are all in ok condition and cheap they might be just right for me to complete the set.
