Here is the '91 GT. Amazon Green (39A) over interior color 99 (anyone know what interior color is 99?) It has all leather interior as well as the dark rootwood option.
The vehicle was imported from Germany by the owner in 1998 and has seen limited use since then. I had to put the Mille Miglias on since the rubber on the GT wheels is flat spotted from storage and could not be balanced.
You will notice the folowing:
1. No door ding protective side mouldings
2. Side market lights added during nationalization
3. No black plastic rear bumper pads
I have been using my '90 S4 as daily driver for the last 3 years. The differences between the two cars is significant. Some of the delta was expected, some unanticipated. I will try to capture my opinions in a short summary and post for discussion later.
With respect to the 'GT, there are two options on the build sticker that I cannot find. They are xg8 and xu1. Anyone seen these before?
I love this car!<a href="http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/neeginan1/lst?.view=t&.dir=/1991+Porsche+928+GT" target="_blank">Porsche 928 GT</a>

Very nice car Cameron.
Do you know about the import procedures? Being from Germany I frequently go there and am tempted everytime to buy a late model 928 to bring it here to Florida. The prices are substantially lower over there.
regards,
Sab.

Sab,
I know that the (now previous) owner of this car paid about $4500 to do the imporation. He did it through a US company that Porsche in Germany recommended to him. I believe that the $4500 did not include shipping and I know he also had to pay tax.
If you put all that in, I suspect that you will find that the price differential is in favor of buying a vehicle already here vs importing. He imported this one because of his history with this particular vehicle which made it worthwhile.
If you are still interested, let me know and I can ask the previous owner if he is willing to speak to you directly to give you all of the particulars. He is a very nice guy and I believe that he would be happy to discuss it with you.
You can email me at neeginan@aol.com.

Here is a great article written by fellow 928er James Morrison in TX about importing a 928.
<a href="http://www.hcrpca.org/newsletter/200108/page11.html" target="_blank">http://www.hcrpca.org/newsletter/200108/page11.html</a>
The downside to importing a 928 in my opinion is the side markers that have to be added. I noticed on James' car, he did not have them. Perhaps anyone wishing to import a 928 would follow the same route he did and avoid having to put holes in the quarter panels on a Euro.
BTW, I love the velvet red color! Nice cars Doug and Jim! Doug, a year from now and I'd be buying yours!
