Update:
I finally heard from the insurance adjuster. He said the car was a total according to his estimate. He quoted me some prices for parts and I knew immediately that it could get done cheaper. So I had the car towed to another body shop I trust and that owner is more than willing to work with me on getting the parts used (which is fine by me) from my source (928international). The adjuster has given me a budget of $10,000 to work with and I'm pretty sure it can be done for less and with a good paint job for the whole car.
Thanks again for everybody's help.

Dart,
You get the highly sought after atta - boy award.
Hang in there...
If the opprotunity presents itself...
while the hood, front end and fender is up/off check every electrical and vacuum line connection in sight. If the shop owner permits and minor support items are bent just take them off and straighten them and perhaps touch up paint. That is unless you plan on entering concours events where they might detect a slight ding or oversized washer holding some pastic in place.
As long as everything is straight and solid when the job is finished go for it!
Again sorry this event occured in the first place and wishing you and the sHARk better luck in the future.
John S. & Pattycakes
P.S. Forgot. Radiator side tanks are plastic with a seal. You might want the shop to pressurize the system - pump cap- and check for leaks early on. Remedy is fairly cheap.
And if the front end was displaced far enough to the right on impact you might want to check the transmission/oil cooler lines where they hook up to Radiator.

That is some good news. Something that you might also consider to keep your costs down is used body parts. Talk with Jim or Mark about the cream of the crop slightly damaged parts. You're going for a repaint anyway - no one will be the wiser if your shop is worth their salt.

Dart,
Sorry, I'm coming in late on this. My son has a car he bought w a salvage title and had no problems getting collision insurance on it here in PA..perhaps your state reg's are different though..worth a call if you haven't already.
Also, on used parts. I just got my '82's Nose job done after hitting a deer. Dave and Jeannie at 928 Specialists saved me a ton on new and used parts so you might check w them also. Dave found me a new OEM nose for much less than Porsche OEM. You need to make sure the shop will work w you on parts though, my guy was initially reluctant then agreed when I said any part mis-matches would be my responsibility.
Hope it goes well.
Jim

Ok, here is the pic of the damage. It doesn't show the hood very well, but the hood is bowed with a crease in the understructure (frame).
What do ya think?
hmmm, it didn't show up. So here is the link.

Fellow Colorado Porsche owner, could I recommend a Denver body shop for ya ?
Stuttgart West A/B, is Porsche, BMW and MB focused and they do tier one work only. There's another shop out on west 6th Avenue and I-70 who's name escapes me, European Werks or something, these guys are a tier one shop as well. I'll find the name for ya.
The area Porsche dealer's body shop's work reputation is average at best. Having recently interviewed several shops to do a bumber refinish I wanted quality work; Read Craftsmanship.
My 1998 911 bumper finish came out superb!

Sorry to hear about the wreck but it sounds like you may come out okay.
Just a few words of advice:
Never give a recorded phone statement to the opposing insurance adjuster the police report will suffice, always call the police for a formal report, never take the first offer, always let the adjuster know you want to "keep the medical claim open until you see the doctor again" Definitely see a Doctor even if you just feel sore(even if you don't feel hurt this will at least give you some leverage over them), If a shop is high balling the insurance b/c they don't want to do it...find another shop and use the high estimate.
Your car is now worth less due to the damage, you should be compensated for the "diminished value".
I am not one of "those people" but I learned my lesson the hard way about a year ago. BTW, if they did total your car you may be able to have them include it in the settlement. That way you could have the money and your car. When that happens about 70% of the time the car retains the original title.
The insurance industry will insure a vehicle with a salvage title as long as the repairs have been made. If you have a claim to the salvage title car they will typically reduce the value by about 40% depending on the company.
Sorry this is long but it was from a lesson I'm still learning...Ruptured C7 disk in my neck from an accident over a year ago...I just thought it was a stiff neck...my wife says it is a result of a hard head
Good luck
Ross

Geez Dart...that is definitely out of hand.
I think you are in need of another estimate (unless you liked the first one!).
Although the pic you posted may not indicate all of the damage - I would tend to think that this shop is focused on the Porsche emblem on the bonnet.
