Default K1 Shift spring install question

I'm installing the K1 accumulator shift spring this week to try and alleviate a 2-3 flairshift. I'm having trouble viewing the pictures from the link posted below (from previous Rennlist thread). For anyone who's BTDT, is this a strait forward procedure? Does the whole valve body need to be dropped out of the tranny, or is the spring accessible by just dropping the pan. Thanks for any pointers.

I just did that about 3 weeks ago. The sight used to have pictures. It is VERY straightforward. the valve body is left in place. The plate is obvious from the instructions. Be CAREFUL putting the new parts together. I put one half in a socket in my bench vise and pressed the other half into it with a smaller socket. It just snaps together, but if the springs try to flip out sideways (as springs do) you will break it. Very easy fix. It fixed alot of my shift problems, but I still plan to take the valve body out in the Spring and rebuild it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a "a 2-3 flairshift"?

Well, car shifts normal from 1-2 and 3-4. Quick and concise. On the gas, she'll shift into 3rd, but take its time, sort of bleed off into 3rd gear, then grab and go. Nothing abrupt, no harsh grabbing, just sort of a sloppy slide into 3rd. Feels the same as slipping a clutch a little too much in a manual. It SHOULD be moving, but its not really until the clutch is fully engaged.
If the spring kit doesn't work, then it looks like the clutch packs Are slipping. Lets hope not.

This should explain some about the 722.3/4 transmission.

Charly, if you're still online today.... K1 spring kit just arrived, no instructions with it. I'm looking at pg 29 in your above link. Can you give me which side of the car (driver/passenger) the plate is on to remove the springs. Any general locating info would be helpful.
This should be self explanetory when I pull the tranny pan off? Thanks.

W/the pan off, it's on the front of the valve body on the driver's side. The plate is rectangular, approx 1"x2" w/ two screws holding it on. Watch which way the piston comes out and just pop the new one back in the same way. the new one has heavier springs. ENJOY HOW EASY this is, because nothingelse on a Porsche that involves getting inside of something that contains oil to fix it is this easy...or cheap!

Its a simple thing. You dont pull the valve body at all. BTDT..Also, put some good redline tranny fluid in there.

Wll, there you go...it doesn't get any better. Everything but a warm body to put it in for you!! That's what I like about the List.

Thanks for humoring me guys, I know this isn't a hard job. For some reason it just wan't clicking last night. Didn't want to pull the wrong cover off and start losing springs. The pictures make it very clear.

Again, I appreciate you guys helping a newbie.
