Post Transmission cooler line leaks

I have just been informed that my '86 car(with 75k miles) is leaking transmission fluid from the coupling in the torque-tube tunnel.

I searched the archives and didn't find any mention of this. Is this common or uncommon?

I find that the forward 1/2 of the line(s) are EXPENSIVE and are back-ordered to Germany. <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Any options? fixes?

Also, apparently the plastic filler unit is "oozing at the seam"..... does this sound reasonable?

Same problem on my 87. Someone already tried a cheesy hose w/ clamps over the metal tubing repair. I'm going to get compression fittings to fit the metal tubing and use some Earls aluminum fittings and braided stainless hose. You could go w/ the compression fitting over the metal tube w/ a barb on the other end and use a good quality hose that will take some pressure. I do have a leak back at the trans also but haven't looked to see if its the tank yet.
