I just checked the Ft. Stockton-Marathon, TX, (Oct. 3-6, '07)

NOT 1 Porsche of any type was entered, let alone a 'shark'.

Charlie Friend set the course record this year with a 161.498 mph avg in his 65 Corvair with a Porsche
transaxle, does that count?
Of course next year he's switching to a Ford GT transaxle, so maybe someone located
in the Southwest should go out and give it a go.
