Default Injector Installation Question

I've got 8 of the seal kits for the injectors on the 90 S4 and I'm putting the intake back on. So what is the order of installation of the parts in the seal kit. I've got the O-rings on the top of the injectors, all lubed and seated correctly in the fuel rails. Now I've got the pintle cap, o-ring and a washer left. So, does the o-ring go first, then the washer and then the cap? I'm not sure if they were on right when I took them off so I want to be sure. All of the caps fell off when I pulled the fuel rails and injectors out. Also, is the pintle cap supposed to snap on with an audible click. I'm not sure if I'm pushing it on far enough but I don't want to crack it. I've searched the archives and I've and I can't find the info I need.

It goes washer, o-ring, pintle cap. I don't know about the "snap" for the pintle since mine came assembled. I do know those pintle caps are on tight, though.

Thanks, Matt. I found that a 9mm socket fits over the cap pretty well. A couple of taps on the socket with the mallet and the cap snapped on good and tight. The fuel rails are in. I'll finish up the rest after work tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed that there are no leaks when I jump the fuel pump.

I hope you gave the injectors a good cleaning off, like with injector or carb cleaner, before you put the new parts on them. Its sounding like they may be dirty and nothing is fitting on easily. I always wash them off with WD40 before I reassemble, and everything is slippery and fits tight. Never any poblems. (maybe they gave you the wrong parts kit??)
