Exclamation NEED HELP - fuel is spraying out the top of my fuel accumulator 90 miles from home.

Is the top of the fuel accumulator supposed to have a nut on it or something? There isn't & I don't recall there ever being one there. The amount of rust on the thing also indicates that nothing's changed recently.

Kary,

The internal diaphram has busted so your only option is to rig up a bypass or replace the accumulator.

Thanks, Dennis. Last night, I just clamped a piece of fuel hose to it and clamped the other end closed on a bolt. It got me home just fine - no fire & no asphyxiation.

Glad you made it. I don't think your original accumulator configuration is still available. The upgrade has a hose from the top that routes any leakage, like you had, back to the tank. Much safer!
