There's an LSD on ebay now for $25.00. The seller doesn't seem to know much about it.

I'm still looking for a LSD I think anything from 1977 to 1984 will probably do, so if anybody has any leads please please let me know, I need to get this car back on the road as it will be my wedding car early in the new year.

I need one too but I will take my time to get a good deal. If you're in a hurry call 928Intl.

I will have a '79 box with LSD available soon. I am currently having a re-built unit installed in my car, so the one coming out will be for sale. Down under is a long way from Louisiana though...

No evident issues with the LSD.

Issues with the box:
- 1st gear syncros bad (all other gears ok).
- Small chickle..chickle sound when in first, low load. I'm told that this is likely the dog teeth making noise.
- Shift input springs weak. The springs which center the lever from 1st/reverse plane are ok -- the lever does not center from 4th/5th plane.

$900 plus shipping for the whole thing. My logic for price includes $650 for used LSD + $250 for box.

It cannot center from 4/5 as there isn't anything in the box to move selector. Thats how it was designed.

Default Still looking

Guys if you have an early one that might be O.K also, depending on flange thickness. If anybody has one or has a lead on one please let me know. I am getting married in the beginning of Febuary in fact the 9th of Feb and that date is of course 9-2-8 unless you are an American.

So I need to get this LSD and get it fitted as my car is one of the wedding cars, also I will drive up the coast for the honeymoon, so I have big trouble with an LSD.

Thanks Greg

I have a 5speed LSD coming out of my 81, a G28/08, but it is a penny to send from Cali to where you are.

andre, i did post a thread just recently showing the bits of metal that came out of the 5spd box i sourced in germany. this box will be going into my 79 when i can replace the broken pieces.

greg, there is an early type LSD sitting on a shelf here in the uk - with paul anderson i believe.

After searching for a while now I am aware of all the different changes, thanks for pointing it out though, depending on the price I am happy to have a go at all of them. I found a brand new early one but he wants $750 plus you need to buy $150 worth of longer bolts for that centre, that is on top of shipping, so you get to $1000 and then it needs modifying to fit, I offered a little less but he wasn't interested so that is too dear for me.

Dr Nick if you see Paul can you ask him for me, I got a quote through Parcel to Go from the U.K and it was 63 pounds and that is O.K. The mother in law to be is in Scotland and is coming out in January so she could bring it if the price is right. I did find a LSD from a S4 which was 250 pounds and I may buy that too, I would expect that the earlier lsd would be cheaper but I don't know if that is the case? What is the situation there? Anybody

Andre, I am not worried about the postage, more the condition and the price and when you can ship it, do you know the flange thickness of yours? That is the thickness where the two flanges meet and this is the part where the bolts pass through to the crown wheel. It will be either 10.65 or about 14 mm.

Thanks Greg

Also I may consider a G28/07 or G28/08 gearbox with an LSD if the price and location was right.

Thanks Greg

Guys I managed to secure a lsd, so thanks to all who contributed. It may make it to the wedding after all.

Cheers Greg
