Wilbraham Tech Session III: Saturday Nov. 3, 2007 9AM - 6 PM

It was a lot of fun Randy.
Good food, good cars, and good people. Dave has a beautiful garage with the mythical two post lift in situ. It was sweet to be able to walk under a 928 at will. There were so many wonderful cars that I found myself making a resolve to clean up my beater. Wow.
Many thanks to Dave and Stan, and all the participating members of the 928 Owner's Club.
If you own a 928, and are not a member, I would highly reccomend joining.

Mucho Thanks to Flo and Tass for putting this event on and cookin' up some great vittles. Despite the hurricane that attempted to spoil the day we had a good turn out. And, as the pic shows, it wouldn't be a tech session at Tass' without at least one 928 showing up on a trailer

Thanks Tass and family. It was great rambling around that vast barn of yours.
And all that great food.
Tass. He forms metal. He makes good food. Plus he's got a 2 post lift.
Jay Kempf working his magic on Tass's racecar. CIS CSI.
Carl L.'s tortured rear coupler R&R.
It all worked out amazingly well. Lots of Karma here. Who'd think an spare 80 cent 4mm lock pin could save the day.
Thanks again muchly Tass and clan. Hope we didn't make too much of a mess.

Thanks Dave and Stan and Jay et al for a great day. What an amazing garage! I got home, looked at mine and suddenly felt really inadequate...I really need to hit powerball.
Seriously, thanks for a great day. I'm looking forward to next year.

Thanks to Tass and the 928 OC.
I was able to replace the rear shift linkage coupler (original was 90% good) to get even more slop out of the shifting. Like I had heard, the set screw wouldn't budge and we had to drill it out. Luckily I had 2 set screws with me, as Kempf and his VT buddy were missing theirs and arrived with a non-shifting 928. Next is the new metal front ball cup, when it comes from Carl F.
A 928 newbie "porschemech1" was there with a 13k mile '79 5 speed. That car has a perfect interior and perfect original paint -brown (non metallic) exterior with brown pasha interior. That car is an absolute diamond, and I hope that someday he understands how cool and special that car is. He is still de-bugging the fuel system from the car sitting for decades.
Great to see Herr Kempf out and in the mix, and thanks for the help on my car.
A lot of local 928ers missed the event because of the weather, but the core people were there. We had 20-25 cars.

Thank you to every one that braved the weather and made it to Wilbraham ! I had a great day, met some new 928 fans and even managed to get my stubborn CIS issue resolved ( I think Jay Kempf is the king of CIS diagnosis and repair, THANK YOU !) Special thanks also to Stan Shaw for being the true organizer of the event.

There is an adapter on the CIS fuel distributor that also happens to have a metal screen in it to catch debris. Apparently after the winter storage time there was plenty of debris to catch, thus insufficient fuel was making it to the motor.
