Default Centrifugal Supercharger Questions

If someone were to be in the market to buy a centrifugal supercharger for a 928, what would they be looking for? Clockwise or counter clockwise rotation? Any particular sizes or brands that are best?

Another question that is in the same realm. When boosting an L-Jet car, are you guys relocating the AFM (barn door) so that the system is a draw through? It seems to me that it would be the way to do it but I don't know squat .

What is done when you boost a K-Jet system?

Dude... you need to go to Green Bay! Really. Enzo-Pschorr has this all figured out.

I think you need to leave the barn-door in order to facilitate off-boost driving. After that it's pretty much all managed by the SCer pulley size and the FMU.

BTW, I recommnd the ultra-rare "clockwide" SCer!

Sorry I didn't call you the other day. I didn't get the message till today.

I am refering to relocating the AFM not eliminating it.

Clockwide is now fixed

Still wondering. Cockwise or counter clockwise rotation on the blower?

Thanks

What side are you going to mount it?

I'm not sure I understand the question. In the middle pretty much. How does that change the rotation? Wouldn't the pully spin in the same direction no matter if it were mounted to the left or right of the crank pully? Maybe I am missing something here.

it does depend on whether you are fabricating your own system or utilising an existing bracket. i think carls systems spin one way and murfs the other.

They can be mounted with the pulley mounted either towards the front of the car or towards the back. The rotation direction will depend on which way.

OK I see. That makes sense. The pics I have seen (Carls) show the pully out in front. I would prefer the pully to be coming out the back so it would lower the leverage on the crank snout. I know, no one has seen any issues with this but it just seems like a better way to do it and the crank pully would be alot shorter. Does Murphs bracket push the S/C way out away from the engine? Can anyone post a pic or a link to his site. I tried Googling "Murph 928 Supershark" and got nothing. He's not listed as a sponsor here anymore either.

Thanks

Fabio,
What is your game plan here? Buying a kit or making your own from scratch?

Murf site: murf928.com (hopefully will be updated shortly).

Thanks Andrew.

Hacker, I am thinking of buying components such as a bracket and fans from Tim or Carl and making the rest. My plan may change before I pull the trigger but I am hoping to use an A/A intercooler for simplicity's sake. I also have access to a fast bracket and pully along with a vortech S/C to play with. This was generously offered from a friend and would only be for me to play with and tweak. Eventually I would need a bracket, SC, and pully.
