There are indeed metric inserts available. There have also been mini-kits for individual sizes available through places like better Home Depot stores. I did almost all the belly pan fasteners with 10-32, including a support strap at the front where the engine tray meets the plastic spoiler. I left the little metal straps at the front that dangle off the radiator support, but they just sit on to of the support strap. The only ones I left original are the two tinnerman-style nuts up inside the air ducts at the steering rack.
Rob--
I shipped you a bag of nice yellow zinc-plated 10-32 x 3/4 screws and a few dozen extra 10-32 inserts in case you decided to do the whole thing. Once you get rolling, the whole job is less than an hour. With the screws and some lockwashers, dropping the belly pan takes minutes with no fumbling to find the screw that goes there, since they are all the same. And with the lockwashers, they don't casually work themselves loose as the originals seem to as they age.
Needless to say, I highly recommend these for folks who pull the trays off more than once a year.
