New 928 Owner ! ! !
Well, I am an official new member of the group. Picked up my 1982, Hellbronze colored, 928 yesterday. I will post pictures later.
I would like to thank all of you, regular posters, experts, and …others. I learned so much reading FAQ, billions of posts, and links to other sites. I hope I made a good choice and decision. I feel I have.
Driving home today (70 miles), after the purchase, there was a big grin on my face as I pushed the car some but, not to the limits. I will never forget when I got home and my daughter was grinning as well. What a feeling. She ask if I was going to pick her up from school in the “new” Porsche!!! She told me after her “test drive”, “dreams do come true, don’t they daddy!” Owning a Porsche, especially a 928, has been a life dream for me.
I am sure that I will be asking for y’alls (for you guys up north “your”) help in the future. I will return your help with questions at first and then with sage advice later on. I am a good student and a good teacher.
I still have a grin so, the pictures may follow later than one would expect.
Thanks again for your help.
Parker

WELCOME!
Sweet memories! Keep em fresh! If the car will last this long, you can always get friendship and info here, just make sure you keep up with your shark!

Glad to have you aboard. I too purchased my car the same way, only my dauhter also drives the car just like I taught her, fast and no fear. I xsaw my first 928 in 1980 and knew one dat I to would own one. Now some 5 or more years later, I am enjoying it like it was the first day.
Good luck and go out for a spin.

I dunno if I'm just hyper sensitive today or what, but that story about the daughter saying "dreams do come true, don't they, Daddy?" was really touching! Like they say, "from the mouths of babes..."
In any case, welcome to the fray, Parker, and do post those pics ASAP. The avatar pic makes it look sa-weet!!

Owning a 928 has been a life dream for you ? Parker you are in the right place, the only thing better than owning a beautifull 928 is lining up a few of em and heading out for a fun run on nice roadways and meeting other shark owners .

First 928 and he scores a Weissach! I was watching the car on ebay. Nice steal, looked in very decent shape. Love the all leather interior. That's a pretty rare car.
Welcome to the group.

I couldn't have said it better I too am a new Shark owner. I fully understand what you feel. I have 2 daughters and my wifes family is in SA too. Once I get through the car and I'm sure it's reliable maybe I'll take it down when we go to visit and say "Hi" in person. Jason

Paul, thanks. I am curious why there are not get togethers for us shark lovers here in Texas. I would think that a weekend in the Hill Country Wine areas would be fantastic.
Thanks
