Default Which power wire for radio?

This question is a little more difficult than it sounds. I am attempting to install a new(er) radio in my 928. The PO (DSpo) made kind of a mess of my console wire harness(es) and I'm unsure which wire is supposed to be the radio hot wire.

Without completely removing the other controls, there are at least three red wires in the area of the radio that have been cut. Two single red wires disappear down and toward the shifter area, and one red wire is grouped/insulated with a brown ground wire that snakes forward toward the DR footwell.

Problem is that only one red wire has voltage with the key on (one that goes aft toward shifter) and I can only read about 2 volts on it. The fuse for the radio is good so I'm thinking I have other issues and need to pull the console and sort out some wires.

Does anyone have their radio out that can tell me if the paired red and brown are supposed to be powering the radio please. It's going to be such fun sorting out the PO's shortcuts.

Yuck! PO radio "creative wiring solutions" are such a PITA. I ran into the same thing and had to basically rewire the whole system. I must have cleaned out about 5 pounds of wire splices and such.

Mine is back together now, but if I can find my notes, I can clue you in to which wire is which...
