Post Stumbling motor

My 1980 928 has 90K original miles and has had virtually every seal to the motor and tranny replaced including the whole top-end having been disassembled 18 mos ago (those who have experienced a water pump failure along with a head gasket can feel my pain) Of late the car intermittently stumbles or misses. I've fiddled with a number of cables / as has my Porsche trained mechanic and no luck. It only does it from time to time but given that all the injectors and plugs have been replaced w/in the past year any tips on where to attack the problem? By the way, this site is incredible and I only wish I'd come across it sooner! <img src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" border="0" alt="[blabla]" />

Hey the same thing used to happen to me on my last 84 928 S It usually happened worse when some moisture got near it or when I would wash it alittle water would get under the hood even though I was careful. I then traced the problem to the green wire that runs from the computer to the distributer. It has a plug that gets hard and broken and coreoded. this wire is extremely important as it must be the exact resistance for the computer calibration. If the connection either at the plug or in the distributer is even a tiny bit off it will give you some problems running right. A new one is about 28 bucks. maybe give it a check , it pretty much cured my problems.
