Default Instrument pods - interchangeable or not?

I am shopping for a pod or just speedo with large number markings in KPH (much higher than the ridiculous 140k/85m). I have been offered a full pod replacement (seller didn't specify year, just that it would fit 80, but weren't all OB/NA market clusters 85mph?) Also, will a newer cluster use back-lighting rather than front lighting?

To me the price seemed high ($350) considering the prices I have seen here.

Thanks in advance

Ken

You can buy a used or rebuilt speedo from 928Intl for less than that. I would call them. I replaced mine a couple years ago with good results. They may be able to set the odometer to your current mileage, I don't know.
