could the WUR on my '82 euro be eliminated?
I have been reading some of the posts and seems that an old WUR should be replaced. But since I am planning to only track the car, I would not care about poor running during warm up. Would some sort of manual pressure regulator maybe do the trick there?
Also the seems to be a new electronic WUR, has anyone tried it?

Your sig indicates you have a Euro. If so, it is likely that your WUR also has a vacuum enrichment function, as well as the warm up pressure control. Most rising rate regulators taht I've known work off of pressure, rather than vacuum.

The WUR is much misunderstood because it is actually the control pressure regulator and does far more than just help start the car. It constantly is adjusting the mixture for altitude change , intake manifold vacumn as well as engine temperature. You must have it for the car to perform correctly and have full power.
