Post No Brake Lights :(

Need a little help here on my US 1982.

As we know, the "Stop Lamp" light stays on when you start the car and as
soon as you hit the brake pedal, it goes off.

I noticed that mine didn't turn off and then got out to look at the tail
lights. No brake lights when the pedal is depressed. "Stop Lamp" stays lit
AND there is no indication through the central warning system...no "!".
Weird!

I checked the #10 fuse and it was fine..cleaned the contacts, even swapped
with the same 25A fuse. It is coupled with the cruise control and the cruise
control works fine.

I got down on the floor board to look for the brake light switch. I can't
find it! I even looked in the engine bay by the booster.

Anyone want to take a stab at this? I need to get these babies lit
again....QUICK!

Thanks!

Keith, you may want to also take a look at the thread

My brake lights were not working when the car was hot - It turned out that both switches on the master cylinder were bad. Follow Wally's steps and test the brake switches and if needed the LCU. My switches tested bad in step 5 and after replacing both switches on MC everything works well.

Good luck!
